The Center’s mandate is to provide services to urban Aboriginals in the Port Alberni area. Services presently offered include counselling, recreation programs, legal help, and employment training. The Centre is a safe and welcoming place with a general drop-in atmosphere.
The Mission Indian Friendship Centre serves the communities of Mission and Abbotsford. The Centre offers programs in the areas of community health, addiction treatment, youth, and employment.
The Lillooet Friendship Centre Society offers a wide range of services to the community. These include a pre-school, an employment centre, a food bank, and counselling for addictions. The Society also makes a major contribution to the local economy. It is the largest employer in Lillooet and generates revenues of approximately $1.8 million dollars per year.
The Ki-Low-Na Friendship Society provides programs and services to people in all four stages of life: infants/children, youth, adults, and Elders. The mission of the Society is to enhance mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being while also promoting Aboriginal culture.
The mission of the Kamloops Aboriginal Friendship Society is to provide culturally-based, inclusive services that enhance the well-being and pride of the urban Aboriginal community. The Society offers programs and activities for people of all ages, and it also operates a health clinic.
The Kermode Friendship Society serves the Terrace area. It offers culturally sensitive programs and services to Aboriginal residents and to the community at large. The Society is committed to promoting self-sufficiency, respect of individuality, and cultural diversity among all residents of the area.
Hiiye’yu Lelum Society serves the Aboriginal residents of the Cowichan Valley. It offers social, health, educational, and recreational programs for people of all ages. These programs promote well-being and provide opportunities for the development of Aboriginal leadership. The Society also acts as a bridge Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal cultures.
The Friendship House Association of Prince Rupert is an inclusive organization that provides programs and services to the community at large. The Association focuses on the needs of First Nations people in the areas of education, culture, health, and recreation.
FRAFCA provides employment, education, health, and recreation services for Aboriginal people in the Fraser Valley. It also supports the resurgence of Aboriginal culture, language, and teachings, particularly those of local residents.
The Dze L K’ant Friendship Centre provides numerous quality services to the Aboriginal communities in the Nechako region. These services support people on their journey to become more self-sufficient and self-reliant. The Friendship Centre also dedicates time and resources to promoting awareness among Aboriginal people. Cultural pride and confidentiality are the pillars of our organization.
