The Society works to enhance the social, economic, physical, cultural and spiritual well-being of the 1,400 Nisga’a citizens who reside in Vancouver and on Vancouver Island, on the unceded territories of the Coast Salish Peoples.

The Native Courtworker and Counselling Association assists Aboriginal people involved in the criminal justice system. Services offered include legal representation and counselling for clients with substance abuse issues. The Association is committed to dealing with every client in a culturally-appropriate and respectful manner.

The Gitmaxmak’ay Nisga’a Society serves Nisga’a citizens in the Prince Rupert and Port Edward area, whose origins are from K’aliaksim Lisims. The pillars of the Society’s programs and services are education, language and culture, sports and recreation, and economic development.

The Commission is the independent body responsible for facilitating treaty negotiations among BC First Nations, the government of BC, and the government of Canada. The Commission and the negotiation process were established in 1992 by agreement among the three parties. The Commission’s primary role is to oversee the negotiation process to make sure that the parties making progress.

The purpose of the Center is to provide a central communication office for Aboriginal Elders, their family and support workers in BC. Among the Center’s many activities are publishing the monthly newsletter the “Elders Voice” and organizing the annual BC Elders Gathering.

The BC Assembly of First Nations is unified towards self-sufficiency and vibrancy while never forgetting who we are. We envision a future where our inherent laws, lands, and traditions are recognized and respected by governments, industry and the general public.

PGNAETA serves the First Nations and urban Aboriginal community in the north central interior of BC. Guided by Chiefs, urban leaders, employment practitioners, and Aboriginal citizens, the Association works collaboratively to help the Aboriginal workforce participate in the shifting labour market of today’s economy.

ENAS provides holistic human resource programming for the benefit of Aboriginal people in Northeast BC. The vision of NENAS is for First Nations and Inuit people to realize their full potential through unity and cohesiveness.

NIFCS provides delegated child protection and family services to the Tsimshian and Haisla Nations. At present, delegated services include guardianship for children in permanent care and support for foster parents. The mission of the NIFCS is to deliver these services in a manner that preserves the cultural identity of our clients.

Northern Rockies Aboriginal Women Society serves Fort Nelson and the surrounding area. Its mission is to provide culturally appropriate and empowering options for Aboriginal women, children, and families. Among the services offered by the Society are prenatal health education, assistance for special needs children, and legal representation in family court matters.
